About me
As a previous head teacher and SEN specialist, with 35 years’ experience in education, as well as a
mother of three boys, I am aware of just how many children and adults are looking for support with
their well-being.
My plan on retiring from headship, was always to train in therapeutic modalities that would support the well-being of others. Since becoming an accredited Level 2 Practitioner in both EFT, and Reiki, I have so enjoyed using this technique both on myself and with others, seeing the benefits that may be gained. More than one client has reported that they felt they were in a ‘safe pair of hands’ as I guided them through the process.
Life can bring challenges that are hard to navigate on your own. This is especially true for children and, as parents, we don’t always have the tools to help them process distressing emotional issues.
I specialise in helping you (or your child) clarify the key issue of concern and use effective EFT techniques, or a relaxing Reiki session, to help bring you back into balance.
Qualifications:
- I am a qualified and experienced teacher and head teacher, and spent 10 years of my career
- as a special educational needs co-ordinator.
- I have a full DBS (police) check and up to date safe-guarding training.
- Accredited Level 2 EFT practitioner

how it works
During our life, we can have strong emotional reactions, or memories, that end up ‘stuck’ in our energy system. These can then result in fears, phobias or anxieties that may last a life time. EFT supports the release of the stuck energy and may help reduce or eradicate the associated issues. It helps us to transform the thoughts and beliefs that are attached to our emotional experiences.
This is a gentle and effective technique which has been shown to effectively address issues with phobias, anxiety and trauma in a safe and supportive way. It’s a soothing self-help method for the mind and body, combining gentle tapping (by the client) on specific energy points on different parts of the body, alongside the use of words or phrases which help to release the issue.
When we are willing to face negative emotions such as guilt, fear, anger or anxiety while tapping (instead of trying to push them away), we can experience surprising relief. After just a few rounds of tapping for example, people often report feeling lighter and calmer. When the root of the problem is addressed, lasting changes can occur.
The tapping techniques taught can then be used for personal use, whenever an uncomfortable emotion arises.

Issues that can be helped
A few of the areas that EFT has been shown to help are as follows:
- Relieve stress and promote general relaxation
- Release and transform painful, uncomfortable or “negative” emotions like anxiety, sadness, anger, guilt, frustration, etc.
- Improve or even eliminate some types of physical discomfort or pain
- Heal the effects of emotional trauma whether you remember the incident or not, and whether the emotional trauma came from one event or many
- Relieve phobias and other fears, irrational or otherwise
And there are many more!
What you can expect from a typical EFT session
We will have an initial chat to identify the key area on which to focus. As we chat, I will be writing down key words and phrases that you are saying, as we will use these in the session. We will then be tapping on various parts of the body, such as the top of the head, whilst using some of these key phrases. At all times, you will be copying or mirroring me, so there is nothing that you have to remember.
At the end of the session, I may show you how you can also use the tapping sequence to support yourself at home.
How Reiki works
‘Reiki is a way of releasing stress and bringing relaxation, which aids the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Stress is acknowledged as a major factor in creating health conditions and a Reiki practitioner is trained to facilitate and individual’s ability to bring their mind, body and emotions towards an inner state of balance and calm, allowing the release of stress. In the UK, Reiki is now available in traditional healthcare environments, such as hospitals, as the medical community endorse it’s use in clinical settings. Because it is non-invasive and at most, uses only very gentle light touch, it is entirely safe, as well as being a beautiful and calming therapy.’

What you can expect from a typical session
At the beginning of the first session, we will discuss the areas on which you would like to focus. The majority of the session is then spent lying very comfortably on a couch, relaxing with peaceful music, whilst I hover my hands over different parts of your body. The only items that need to be removed are glasses and shoes. If lying down would be uncomfortable for you, we can use a fully seated or supported lying (sunbed) position.

Sessions last an hour and can either be face to face or over Zoom, which is just as effective! All sessions and information received are private and confidential.
Whilst EFT and Reiki can offer quick, long-lasting results, it isn’t usually a ‘one session fix’ and so multiple sessions are encouraged.
